My plumber charges me $44.50 p/h plus materials! Since when did common laborers get paid this sort of money?

This is the real Oparh!

Answers:

1I like that. The "real" Oparh who can't even spell her name (Oprah), is worried about paying $44.50 an hour when she is one of the richest people in the universe.

To answer your question, I must frist tell you that a plumber is not common labor. He is a experinced , well trained technicion that has dedicated his life to his trade. What you do not know is that he has to go through a hands on apprenticship training, deal with dangerouse chemicals, tools, equipment every waking morning. He or she has to attend shool to learn the thorey of the working plumbing system. Depending on the state requirements the educational time spent may be anywhere from 3 to 4 years at an accredited educational institution. Along with that requirement he/she work in the field for 2080 hours under a master or journeyman plumber to gain hands on experience to learn problem solving techniques. Then after that the have to take a journeymens exam to be licenced to proform his job. Not until after two to three years does he become eligable to be able to apply for the masters test. They must be able to read blue prints, use geometry, trigonomety to draw plans to submit to municiple inspectors. The due to the ever changing laws, equipment, and other materials the education never stops. So to say the least I do not understand the statement of common labor. Education is the key. I hope this explains your misunderstanding! also, 44.50 is cheap compair to other parts of the country some charge $125.00 per hour pluse materials and some charge flate rate to do a job.

Where did you find a plumber for $44.50? The last quote I got to try and find a leak was $185 for the first hour and $90 for the second, third, and so on, hour.
