How much would a plumber charge me to re-plumb my kitchen water pipe? | |
I want to move my sink. Right now the water pipe comes out of the wall next to the sink. I want to move the sink towards the other wall so I can have a walk way between the sink and the wall.
This means that I need to re-plumb the water pipe and move it back into the wall, thru the wall and have it come out on the other side of my kitchen.
How much would this work cost?
I was thinking $1000?

1Hi,
A lot depends on if you have a basement, crawl space or concrete slab. The changes are much easier if you have a basement and slightly harder if you have a crawl space, and a lot harder if you have a slab.
Either way the plumber is going to charge you an arm and a leg so you might want to ask your friends and neighbors to recommend a good handyman.
If I were doing it and you had a basement it would cost you about $300 including materials. I don't do crawl spaces or attics.
(Claustrophobia) Of course that would depend if what you are trying to do is even practical, and I am speaking of pvc or copper plumbing only.

I was reading Bob's answer to your Plumbing question. He is absolutely correct, It depends on the new location of your kitchen sink. Yes it would be easier if you have a full basement. Hopefully your shut offs to your kitchen sink are in your basement. Shut them both off, cut your hot and cold pipes after the valve, not before. Then cut your PVC drainage pipes. Your all set to take your sink out and move it were you want it. Use 1/2'' pex pipe when you repipe your hot and cold to your kitchen faucet
