STEM EXTENSION KITS

I DID SOME WALL REPAIR AROUND MY BATHTUB AND NOW THE FAUCETS DONT PROTRUDE FAR ENOUGH THRU THE NEW WALL FOR ME TO PUT ON THE HOT AND COLD HANDLES OR THE TUB SPICKET. PLUS, I WANT TO TILE THE NEW WALL, WHICH WILL ADD EVEN MORE THICKNESS TO THE WALL. WILL A HOT AND COLD STEM EXTENSION KIT GIVE ME THE EXTRA LENGTH THAT I NEED TO PUT THE HANDLES/SPICKET ON? IS THAT WHAT THE EXTENSION KIT IS FOR? IF NOT, WHAT SHOULD I BUY TO FIX THE PROBLEM? I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY SUGGESTIONS AND MONEY IS AN ISSUE! THANKS!
