can plastic pipe be connected onto lead pipes under floor boards. the piping is from the waste from the batth.

I would replace the piping from the bath with plastic . If its lead it needs replaced anyway. It will just give you problems later.

If the lead pipe is coming from the main soil pipe and replacing it is not possible then cut as much of it back as you can and fit a mcalpine multi fit coupling to it and run the plastic pipe from there to the bath trap. couplings come in 1.25 , 1.5 ,and 2 inch.
