Sewer smell at times in house - what causes this and is it dangerous?!

sewer gas is not very healthy pipe air vent should be going out side check that first then if you have a drain in basement it is not being used alot poor 1 gallon with 2caps of bleach down drain Ive found this has help.

check your attic , make sure all your vent are going through the roof and not into your attic. Also check around the bases of your stools for a leaky wax ring.Also check under all fixtures for vents espessially your washer , and shower.

check the p-trap of all your fixtures, every fixture with a drain has one, if it is leaking its allowing the sewer gas to come out of that drain... if you dont know what a p-trap looks like, it looks like a sideways P...
