why is my pilot light so weak?



i have a chaffoteaux challenger 40 boiler.the pilot light is very difficult to light and is not strong enough to ignite the main burners.sometimes the main burners will ignite causing a mini explosion in the chamber.please help.

Go to your trouble shooting guide for that type of boiler. Look up weal pilot light. If not contact the place were you purchased it...........

Find the other end of your pilot tubing at your gas valve, blow the pilot burner out with air. Maybe as simple as a spiderweb or lint,or other debris from lighting the pilot.
